Café 1759 is a café with a difference – we’re a not for profit community café, supported by volunteers. This means that we’re able to keep our prices low and reinvest the money we make into the café and our local community, allowing us to provide community activities, support volunteers and promote health and wellbeing. Café 1759 is proud to be part of the Whitehill and Bordon Healthy New Towns programme!

We believe in using locally sourced food where possible, and that homemade is best. This is why everything is made from scratch in our kitchen. We want to provide you with good quality food that we’d happily eat ourselves, so as far as possible, every plate is full of ingredients that make up part of a balanced diet. The best part is, because we make it all ourselves, we know exactly what’s in it!

We also a provide a number of volunteering opportunities, giving local people the opportunity to learn new skills, develop, access training, meet people and generally be part of our lovely team.

We want to be at the heart of your community and offer various activities for people to get involved. From encouraging people to get active in Bordon Inclosure, to our plans for a ‘Food Academy’ cooking school for kids – we’ve got lots of stuff planned!

Why 1759?
1759 was the year of the battle of Quebec. Around 150 years later from 1903 – 1910, barracks were built in Bordon which were named after the battles that were part of the seven year war between England and France. The café has been built amongst some of the original Quebec barrack buildings which is why we chose Café 1759 as our name!
